12 Winter Wardrobe Must Haves

Winter is in full swing & that means it is time to take inventory of your closet. There are a number of closet staples that I think every one needs in their closet, so today I’m sharing some of my favorite winter wardrobe must haves that I wear on repeat during the winter season. Obviously, everyones winter wardrobe essentials may fluctuate due to different climate changes, so I’ve included a variety of items for both cold & warmer climates you can style multiple ways throughout the season.

Sharing a roundup of 12 winter wardrobe must haves with styled outfits & several other options to shop in each of the categories.

12 Winter Wardrobe Must Haves

This list covers everything from head to toe, & a mix of cozy, yet chic items you can wear on repeat all season long. I’ve also included a variety of items you can shop for each category, all with different price points.

1.Blazers

Blazers have always been a top wardrobe must have for me, no matter what season it is. I love styling them in the winter over chunky knit sweaters, hoodies, & bodysuits for a more casual, yet put together look. There’s just something about a good blazer that can really make an outfit pop, no matter what you pair it with. One of my favorite ways to style blazers is over a solid bodysuit, jeans, & booties. Not to mention, blazers are an easy wardrobe item you can transition into the spring, which is always a win!

2. Sweaters

Sweaters are probably the most staple winter clothing item in my closet & definitely one of my favorite pieces to style. Whether it’s a sweater dress with boots for date night or a classic crewneck sweater & joggers to run errands in, there’s a sweater for any & every occasion.

3. Teddy Coats

Living in Texas, we don’t really need heavy-duty coats to survive the winter months, which is why I love teddy coats so much. I personally think teddy coats are under rated & one of the coziest items I have in my closet. I can’t think of an outfit they don’t go with! You can throw them over workout clothes, dress them up with a sweater dress, & so much more. I also love a good puffer jacket so included those below too!Sharing a roundup of 12 winter wardrobe must haves with styled outfits & several other options to shop in each of the categories.

4. Booties

Booties are another item I wear all year round, especially in the fall & winter. I personally love neutrals when it comes to booties since there are endless ways to style them, but I also love a good statement bootie, too. Sharing my Big Bend travel guide with all of my recs of what to do during your West Texas roadtrip to one of the most beautiful parts of the state.

5. Scarves

Scarves are one of my favorite winter accessories. I don’t have too many in my closet, but the ones I do have are large in size (this is a must for me) & versatile so I can pair them with any outfit. I definitely think scarves are a good closet staple that will never go out of style. They come in any price point too, which I love.

6. Beanies

Beanies have been very on trend this year & all I’m here for it! Talk about a winter accessory that not only keeps you nice & warm, but can be super affordable, too. I know beanies aren’t for everyone, but I wanted to include them in this roundup since I’ve been wearing them so much this season.

7. Faux Leather Leggings

My faux leather leggings might be one of my most treasured items in my closet, haha. Hands down, everyone needs a pair of these in their closet, trust me. From dressing them up with a blazer & booties to dressing down with a pullover & sneakers, there are endless ways to style them. Sharing my Big Bend travel guide with all of my recs of what to do during your West Texas roadtrip to one of the most beautiful parts of the state.

8. High Waisted Jeans

I have several go-to jeans I wear all year round, but I tend to gravitate towards high waisted jeans without huge holes in the winter. I personally think a good pair of high waisted jeans can never do you wrong. They’re flattering with all tops (particularly cropped sweaters & bodysuits) & are a closet staple you can transition into any season. Sharing a roundup of 12 winter wardrobe must haves with styled outfits & several other options to shop in each of the categories.

9. Cozy Loungewear

I can’t think of a time where I wore more loungewear than I did this year. That said, cozy loungewear is a must have closet staple for me. I love matching loungewear that can be worn around the house with cozy slippers & transitioned with sneakers to run errands in.

10. Tall Boots

When I’m not wearing booties, I’m usually wearing a pair of tall leather boots now that OTK boots aren’t as big of a trend this year. I like to pair them with sweater dresses or jeans to make outfits a bit dressier. It’s crazy how much a pair of boots can instantly add a touch of “fab” to any outfit. Sharing my Big Bend travel guide with all of my recs of what to do during your West Texas roadtrip to one of the most beautiful parts of the state.

11. Camel Coat

A classic camel coat is a closet staple worth the investment because of the CPW (cost per wear) with endless ways to style over & over again. If you don’t have one already, now is the season to splurge on one since so many are on sale & you can get the most bang for your buck.

12. Bodysuits

And last but not least, I’m rounding up my winter wardrobe must haves with bodysuits, a closet staple I wear at least once a week, haha. Not only do bodysuits give you the perfect sleek look under mini skirts or pants, but they’re also great for layering over blazers, cardigans, etc. Sharing a roundup of 12 winter wardrobe must haves with styled outfits & several other options to shop in each of the categories.
