Austin Outfit Recap

We had two back to back weekends out of town & we have another busy weekend ahead with family coming into town. First, we were in Scottsdale for Memorial weekend & to celebrate my husband’s birthday. See my travel guide & what I wore from that trip, which I shared last week. Last weekend we had a long weekend in Austin with some of our favorite couples at Hotelette. You may remember hearing about Hotelette from my Nashville city guide. I’ll share ALL the details & all my Austin recommendations with you all next week, but in the mean time, I’m rounding up what to wear in Austin in my Austin outfit recap post today.

AUSTIN OUTFIT RECAP

Always comfy for travel, even when it’s for a road trip. If you’ve ever driven from Dallas to Austin then you’ve seen Bucee’s & know its a MUST stop both ways. They literally sell everything you can think of. We went a little overboard, but YOLO. Vacation Lauren doesn’t care at all! I got these sneakers in just before the trip & was so happy to wear them! You can brush the sequins for them to be silver or gold. I love them! Everything fits TTS except the t-shirt, which fits oversized so I’d size down.

We had pizza for dinner our first night in at our house so this cute little smocked dress paired with another pair of fun metallic sneakers was the perfect casual look. I loved the color of this dress & found it to be so flattering. I’m wearing my true size in it & in the sneakers.

These leopard high waisted shorts are insanely comfortable & flattering. I know I’m going to get so much good use out of them this summer. I love them dressed up, like here, or dressed down for a day time look. This little cropped bra top was perfect paired with them. I layered a denim jacket over it to dress the look down a bit & I love how it turned out!

Can we just take a moment to appreciate the color of this romper?! Amazing. It’s a utility style romper, which is one of my favorite Spring trends. It’s so comfortable, too. I edged it up a bit with some fun snakeskin booties. Everything fits true to size.

This may have been THE look of the weekend. I got stopped several times this day by people asking where I got this kimono/dress/top. A few people pulled it up immediately & ordered it. It also comes in a lavender color that is gorgeous! I love this buttoned up & layered over a slip dress, over a swimsuit as a cover up, or like I styled it here. SUCH a fun, versatile piece.

This little tie dye set was perfect for our hiking one morning. It’s super stretchy & so comfortable. I bought my true size in both the bra top & leggings, but if you’re between sizes I’d go down just because it does have a good amount of stretch. Big fan of this set & this little workout tank!

This is the cutest little crop top. All of the detail on it is swoon worthy & makes it perfect for summer. I love it paired with shorts, too. I wore it to brunch with high waisted jeans & kept it causal in sandals. I added a red scrunchie scarf to match the red flowers on it. My scrunchie comes in soo many colors & is 3 for $12.

I love, love, love this little red dress. It is a great summer mini dress. I’d definitely size up in this though! I usually wear a size 2 in this brand & wish I would have gotten a 4 in this. I love it dressed down like here with sneakers (it also looks cute with a denim jacket over it) or dressed up with wedges or heels.

This was my personal favorite look of the weekend because its just so me. Causal t-shirt on the top & party on the bottom in this embellished skirt & heels. I added some fun hair clips to further edge up the look & to avoid washing my hair. I love this look & will 100% be repeating it several more times, soon. Johnny Cash is one of my favs so I’m so happy to have found the perfect graphic t-shirt paying honor to him!

Can you have too many leopard dresses? I think not. This one is a linen material which makes it perfect for the hot summer months. I dressed it up with heeled booties, but obviously this little cutie would be cute with sneakers, sandals, wedges, or whatever other shoes you throw on with it! I’m in my true size in it.

This is the perfect t-shirt to wear at the end of a long weekend. Even though I don’t even believe myself when I say this, but whatever. I paired it with jeans & my fun sequin shoes again. I added a hair clip just to try & look somewhat put together. Everything I’m wearing fits TTS.

I hope this gives you some good outfit inspo for your next trip to Austin. You can find more outfit inspo in my SXSW outfit recap post, too. I love ATX, always & feel like it brings out the good casual-cute with an edge side of my style, which I love. Stay tuned for my city guide, which I’ll be posting very soon.
