Spring (& my allergies) are in full swing. This is always the busiest time of year for me at work at my day job. Some days, it seems that my appearance suffers when work & my schedule is so crazy. This year, I’m determined to keep self care & my appearance a priority. In graduate school, I almost never wore make up, but I would always take time to put some on when I had a test. Something about making yourself look better just makes you feel better. If i would get myself in order & dress up a bit, it was almost as if I was dressing the part & my confidence, mood, & determination increased. It might sound silly, but it works.

SPRING OCCASIONS

Spring is always such a busy time. From showers & weddings to graduations, vacations, & festivals it seems that every other weekend has a big event. If you’re anything like me, as soon as something shows up on your calendar, you start thinking of what you might wear. I love any excuse for a new outfit & all of the spring occasions are perfect for a new look!

Jumpsuit 

I styled this gorgeous jumpsuit as a spring occasions look. I think it would be perfect for a wedding, shower, or graduation. I also love it for date night while on vacation! I dressed it up with heels here, but you could definitely wear it with wedges or sandals, too. This is SUCH a flattering and show stopping piece. It comes in four other colors if the bright blue isn’t your vibe, but this felt so spring like to me. I am wearing a size two in this jumpsuit for reference!

NEW PROPORTIONS

High waisted pants & tie waists are oh so flattering in my opinion & I am always here for them when they are trending. I have a long torso & short legs, so I love that high waisted pants with wider leg silhouettes help elongate them. A tie waist always helps accentuate a waist & who doesn’t love that?

Sweater // Shorts // Earrings

I love these trends whether they are in the form of high waisted pants, jeans, jumpsuits, or rompers. I decided to style this pair of high waisted shorts with a tie detail for this trend. These could also fit under the below modern utility trend, too. I loved these shorts styled with this cut out white sweater, but they are also so cute with a tshirt & a denim jacket or with a classic button down.

MODERN UTILITY

Utility style is kind of a classic, but it’s definitely a popular trend this year that I have seen all over. I love the relaxed look of utility clothing. It’s easy to wear & has such an effortless look. From shorts, to jackets, & rompers– there are so many ways to wear this trend this spring.

Romper // Sandals

I loved this romper with a fun tie waist detail on it. I think the tie waist makes it so much more flattering. This look is sort of a hybrid between the new proportions trend & the modern utility trend, too. When two great trends combine, it’s even better. I wanted to keep this look casual, so I styled it with these flat sandals which have hands down been my new favorite. I love the subtle leopard print & think they go with SO much. They are super comfortable, too. I also love this romper styled with sneakers or dressed up with wedges or heels. Pieces like this that are so versatile are my favorite for this time of year when you may be taking them from day to night.
