Navy & Black

I don’t know who came up with the idea that navy and black should not be worn together. It is seriously one of my favorite color combos. Maybe it’s because I once heard it should not be done and I wanted to prove it most certainly should. Regardless, if you’ve spent any time thinking these two colors don’t belong together I’m here to challenge you to think of them as complimentary and to give navy and black a try. If you’re not ready to pair it on your own, this dress is a perfect starting point, as it already combines the two colors for you. Then, you can easily add your own black accessories to further compliment the black accents on the sleeves. I threw  a belt on with this for a night out look, but have worn it to work without the belt so it’s a little less fitted.

If you’re on the navy and black train already, consider pairing a blue sweater with black skinny jeans, booties, and some mixed metal accessories, like these statement earrings. You an also go as simple as throwing on a black or blue t-shirt and layering a contrasting jacket over. The possibilities are endless, but regardless of what you pair together, I think this color combo is a winning one and results in such an effortless chic look.
