I’m so excited to finally share our dining room with you all today. First of all, if you haven’t seen my other home decor posts yet, be sure to check out our bedroom and our kitchen. For those of you that don’t know, we are currently in an apartment that feels sort of like a town home, because of it’s size and the fact that it’s two stories. We moved in here in October and plan to stay here until we buy a house. Because we knew that it was a space we could be in for awhile (who knows how long it can take to find the right house), we wanted it to be a space we were comfortable in and happy with. We’ve both been in so many ‘temporary homes’ that we never seem to finish decorating. This little place finally feels like ours and I’ve been so excited to share more of our home with you all!

I definitely view decorating as a process that never truly finishes, I think that while you can change things up here and there, you can overall have a place feel like it doesn’t NEED anything. Then, as you find things you love or updates you want to do, you can do them. However, the time in between you still feel at home or like it’s a completed space. With all that in mind, we wanted to buy pieces that we knew we would use in a home, but still make this one feel as complete and homey as possible! We lived together before, but this was our first place as a married couple and we wanted it to really be as special as possible, even if it is temporary!

The gorgeous gold mirror was the piece I was waiting for to be delivered for months. While it was worth the wait, but our place just wasn’t complete until it arrived. I looked at this big empty wall every day and knew the mirror would look amazing once it arrived. When I ordered it, it was backordered as it’s been a very popular item in every size, but particularly this big one. I see why. It’s such a statement piece and it’s absolutely stunning. I know it’s something we will have for decades and probably forever. A beautiful mirror like this just doesn’t go out of style! Now that our statement piece has arrived, our place finally feels “finished.”

Our dining area is an open space between our kitchen and living room. We have this great little built in shelf on the side wall between the two that is perfect for storing all of our barware and accessories that wouldn’t quite fit in our small kitchen or on our bar cart. See more of our kitchen and bar cart here. We floated our dining table in the middle of the open space. Our table actually has another leave we can add in to fit 8 or even 10 people if needed. I love that, because I know that when we move in a house our table will fit no matter what! We bought these chairs when we had a smaller table that seated four in our last place and I love them so much! The sheepskin throws on the end chairs match pillows we have in our living room and provide a little texture to the space.

Our plates have a metallic gold rim around them, so we wanted gold flatware to match. We have mixed metals all throughout our house, but I tend to gravitate towards gold. I saw these napkin rings and knew they would tie everything together. We actually have rose gold metallic pillows in our living room, so these sort of play off that and connect the spaces well. Can napkin rings be statement makers? I’m going with yes in the case of these. I love them!  I liked the frayed edge on these and the light gray color, which matches a few other things we have downstairs. They come in a few colors and can be customized with your monogram or last name initial.

I hope you all enjoyed seeing more of our place. I’m in search for the perfect fiddle leaf fig tree and then will be sharing more of our living room with you all, which will complete our home tour. I hope it’s provided you all with a little bit on inspo for your own home! XO
