Spring Color Crush: Yellow

I’m still sometimes surprised to find myself saying I have a color crush. While I tend to prefer neutrals, I’ve been leaning towards more and more color lately. Whether it’s incorporating into the background of my photos or into my looks, I’ve had fun experimenting with different colors. You all seem to love what you’ve been seeing based on the feedback I’ve gotten on Instagram recently, too. My current spring color crush is yellow right now! When I saw this blazer, I just went for it. I had it hanging on my clothing rack for a few weeks and I finally pulled the trigger one sunny day when I was going to shoot some new looks. Yellow is one of those colors that just exudes happiness and instantly brightens your mood, so today I’m sharing this fun yellow blazer, as well as a round up of my favorite clothing and accessories for spring that all support my yellow color crush.

I tend to be picky about shades of yellow. I don’t usually prefer more pastel yellows and instead like brighter, more sunshine-like hues. Something about pastel yellow reminds me of retro decor or just doesn’t go well with my skin tone, so I avoid it.

Let’s talk a bit about this outfit. This yellow blazer is a great price and they even have some matching pants if you want to go full on with a suit. Because I don’t wear color all of the time, I wanted to keep the rest of the look pretty simple. I went just a white bralette underneath this top for more of a going out look, but it would also look great with my favorite white cami top. This cami is one of the best pieces in terms of cost-per-wear I have bought, because I wear it at least once a week. It comes in a few colors and is so easy to throw on. If you haven’t scored a pair of white pumps yet, grab some now! They add a chic touch to any look and are prefect for spring and summer. These glitter aviators are my most recent sunglass purchase and I think they add such a fun touch to any look!

Which are your favorite pieces? There are so many cute sets, rompers, dresses, and tops that I can’t even choose. I’m definitely getting a pair of the yellow sunnies and am thinking I’m going to do a whole monochrome yellow look for my upcoming trip to Miami in May. What says “I’m ready for summer” quite like a ton of bright, happy yellow?

We just got back late last night, after some flight delays, from our trip to Santa Fe. I’ll be sharing my round up from our trip and my travel guide with you all later this week. It was such a fun city to spend time in though and I love that I had the opportunity to get away and refresh. It always helps me have a fresh outlook on work when I get some time away! I don’t have any trips on the calendar currently for April, but do have some fun ones in May that I can look forward to.  I apologize for less posts than usual on the blog last week, but after going to Austin (see my SXSW recap here) I got sick and had a busy few days at home prepping before this trip, so I wasn’t able to get as many posts up as I hoped.
