Black & Blue -

I love a good statement coat. While they can be a bit of an investment, I think they’re totally worth it. A fabulous coat makes jeans and a t-shirt a great outfit in no time. Texas doesn’t usually require that I have a ton of winter coats, so I ordered this blue coat just before I headed to the East Coast for the holidays. Since then, I’ve loved having it to easily throw on. Because it’s longer, it’s easy to wear with a dress- especially if I’m not in the mood for tights. I’m keeping my eyes peeled for other colored coats that might need to make their way into my closet (especially as some start to go on sale).

This clutch was a gift and inspired by this gorgeous Alexander McQueen clutch, which is unfortunately way out of my price range. The knuckles make it super easy to hold on to through the night (and provide a little protection in case you find yourself in a dark alley! ha).Let me take a minute to honor this little tuxedo dress. I love it oh so much that you’ll probably be seeing it again sooner rather than later. It deserves its very own post! It’s so versatile and you can never have too many LBDs, especially when a little something special is added to it like with this tuxedo-style twist.
