Today is MLK Day. I always like to take some time to think about what this day symbolizes, but I feel that it’s particularly important in light of events over the past year. One of my favorite MLK Jr quotes is: “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.” I feel that this quote is so important to take some time & think about with so much hate happening in our country this year. In response to the BLM protests this summer, I wrote a post called Change with me. This outlined my plan through the end of 2020 to continue to educate myself & do my part to help fight against white supremacy. Over the holidays I shared some black owned businesses with gift ideas & this year, each quarter I’ll be sharing black owned businesses you can consider supporting. I thought today would be the perfect opportunity to share my first of the year.

There is so much meaning behind today & it is a wonderful time to not only assess your life & what you are doing to be an anti-racist & fight for equal rights. Remember, equal rights doesn’t mean less for you. It’s not pie!
