The Secret to Baby Smooth Skin

The secret to baby smooth skin via A Lo Profile: Dermaplaning review. The week before we left for our wedding, I went in to visit my friends at Enlighten MD for some last minute help with my skin. I left with my skin feeling the softest and smoothest it ever has. I shared some behind the scenes that day and have since gotten so many questions regarding the treatment I had done. That’s why today I am sharing more about my secret to baby soft skin: dermaplaning.

What is dermaplaning?

Dermaplaning is basically the key to having your makeup go on flawless. It’s a quick procedure that you can add on to a facial and is safe for any skin type! Dermaplaning is a method of exfoliation that uses a scalpel to gently scrape off the top layer of dead skin cells and vellus hair aka ‘peach fuzz.’

What does it do?

Dermaplaning ultimately leaves your skin smoother and brighter with no down time. It immediately improves the tone of your skin, as well as the texture of it, leaving it so smooth and clear. Insert raise the roof emoji here. I was obsessed with how my makeup went on my face afterwards!

How often can you get it?

You can get it done every 4-6 weeks depending on how quickly your peach fuzz comes back. Because you’re typically combining it with a facial and extractions may be made, make sure you plan it a few days before any big events! It’s perfect prep before a big occasion (it’s seriously a must before a wedding ladies!) or can be done as a routine procedure. It’s definitely going to be in my usual routine.

Will the hair grow back?

It will, but don’t worry it won’t be any darker or thicker and you won’t end up with more of it. It comes back exactly as it was before!

How much does it cost?

The cost varies, as it is usually an add on to a facial, but you’ll see it range from about $50 to $150 depending on what you get done with it.

If you want to know even more about this procedure, particularly the results, watch this video that Enlighten MD made when I got mine done right before my wedding. The video is at the bottom of the page, so just scroll down. Although it’s a little gross, I had to share it with you all because the results are undeniable!

If you have any other questions about dermaplaning that I didn’t answer, please feel free to reach out! I’m so obsessed with it and highly recommend it to anyone. My skin has seriously never felt smoother or more clean and it made my makeup go on so much better! XO

I’ve been doing this for about 6 months and it’s incredible! I do it myself and am very careful, especially with cleaning, moisturizing and sanitizing. I get compliments all the time and most of the time, I just wear mascara and lipstick. I found using a great Vitamin C serum is essential and using aloe for a few days after dermaplaning.
