September hits & my mind immediately turns to all things Fall. I absolutely love putting together Fall outfits as you probably saw in my affordable fall fashion post. I also love to decorate our home for Fall! Today, I am sharing some Fall decor that won’t break the bank & my tips for simple ways to update your home with the seasons.
Fall Decor THAT WON’T BREAK THE BANK
I’m not someone that does a complete overhaul on decor with each season & I don’t love seasonal or holiday decor that feels cheesy. I like things that go with our current decor style & that can make space or room feel updated, without being overdone. I talk often about CPW (cost per wear) with clothing items & my approach on home decor is similar. If I am using something just a few weeks out of the year, I’m likely not splurging too much on it like I would with a piece I use daily.
When shopping for some Fall decor that won’t break the bank, Walmart home is one of my first stops. I have found so many amazing things for our home, particularly accessories & pieces for our outdoor space, from Walmart. One of my tips for a way to change out the feel of your home– both inside & out– is to switch out your accessories. This means pillows, throws, candles, & florals. You can also never go wrong with a few small decor items, like pumpkins! It doesn’t seem like much, but this makes SUCH a big difference in the feel of a space. I’m most excited about all the cute pillows at Walmart for Fall. I’m using some of them inside & others outside (as you’ll see below) on our patio!

I joke that Fall is my most basic time of year. I love a good chai latte year round, but when Fall hits I am all for plaid, scented candles, & s’mores. I have no shame! I’m so excited to do some of our favorite Fall traditions with our little guy. He truly makes everything more fun, as everything is a first for him! We will definitely be having a ton of cozy days & nights at home over the next few months.
Fall in Texas means it’s finally cooled off enough to enjoy time outside. I ordered all the pillows from above for our outside couch to help make it feel more like Fall outside! I replaced some blush colored & other more fun pillows with these neutral, plaid, & textured pillows. I love how they all turned out! We will definitely enjoy a ton of baby snuggles out here for the months to come. Another tip for saving when switching out your decor is to buy just pillow covers that fit the same size pillows for the season. It also makes storing things so much easier!
