Gingham is a pattern I’m back and forth on. It’s not like stripes (which I always love) or polka dots (which I don’t do). Sometimes I see it and die for the way it’s styled and others, I feel it looks over-done in a not so-good western or picnic style. I love a little bit of western style, but like it when it’s subtle and just one piece that has contrasting pieces styled with it to avoid a rodeo look. Unless, you’re going to a rodeo– then just go all out.
This top, which is from Chicwish, was on that I loved at first sight. I especially loved the big sleeves with the tie detail at the end. I paired it with high rise white button up shorts and a small block heel. I’m loving heels in this style because they are so comfortable for day time and I can walk for awhile without worrying that my feet will hurt as they might in a stiletto or other shoe. This outfit worked perfectly for daytime around the French Quarter when I was visiting New Orleans last weekend. (Trip recap coming soon!) One of the greatest things about this top? It’s under $50! It’s even a little dupe of a much more expensive version I first saw here from Neimans.
