‘Tis the season for holiday parties! Our calendar is filling up quick and so is my shopping cart with all the outfits I need for them. I never hate having more ideas for what to wear to all the different parties, so today I’m sharing his and her holiday looks and tons of great options for all of your upcoming events! There are several different attires when it comes to holiday parties, so I’m also breaking down the most common for you and sharing outfit ideas for each for both men and women. When in doubt, go for a LBD (like I did) and keep in mind that it is always better to be over than under dressed. If you’re not sure of the attire, ask other guests who are attending or if they are unsure, you can contact the host. His and her holiday looks with Nordstrom via A Lo Profile.

I’ve shared before (see here and here) how it’s a one-stop shop for both my husband and I, which makes shopping for this time of year so much easier! We went with sort of a dressy-casual look that would be suited for an office party, as that seems to be one of the most common questions we get. His look is more on the casual side, where mien could be worn to a cocktail party, too. His sweater is under $150 and comes in twelve colors. His pants are under $100 and come in six colors. His button down is only $55 and comes in six colors! My dress is under $100 and comes in six colors. I love the feminine fit of it! I wanted to match him a bit, so I played off his sweater color in my accessories. Matching your accessories or even your dress to his tie color when more dressed up is so fun, too.

FESTIVE

Festive attire can be anything in the holiday spirit! You can wear a Christmas sweater (my personal favorite), a sparkly bag or pair of shoes, or even a sequin top with jeans. I say dress for where you think your night may take you. If you’re doing a good dinner beforehand, maybe opt for sparkles over a sweater. However, I never think twice when I see a funny sweater on anyone this time of year. Whenever you get an invitation that says festive, consider the location and who is throwing the party to know if you should go for something funny or sparkly.

DRESSY CASUAL

Dressy casual attire is a dressed up version of something you may wear on any given day. It’s not quite as fancy as cocktail, but definitely don’t show up in jeans and sneakers. Try dressing up black skinny jeans with heels and a fun jacket or try wearing a jumpsuit. Men can wear slacks and a button down or jeans and a blazer.

COCKTAIL

Cocktail attire typically means men should wear a darker suit with a tie and women should wear a dress with heels. For women, avoid a long dress and try dressing up your look with a fun pair of earrings. If you’re going to an office party with cocktail attire, ensure that your dress is on the more conservative side.

Like I mentioned before, our looks are between dressy-casual and cocktail and would be great for an office party! Something about a twirly dress and a layered look for him makes me feel instantly party-ready. If you need help shopping for your holiday parties, feel free to reach out! We seriously snagged everything we needed in one online shopping + pick up in store session, which was such a relief.
