If you’ve been following me for a while, then you know I’m a big fan of neutrals. Recently though, I’ve been incorporating color into my wardrobe and my Instagram feed. While I’m still a huge fan of neutrals for how classic and timeless they are, plus the CPW (cost per wear) of the items, I’ve been loving the fresh, new feel that color has brought into my wardrobe. I think that naturally, as spring and summer roll around, that I am more drawn to color. This year especially, I’ve been loving color and pattern. It can be easy to crawl into a fashion rut and get comfortable, but today I am encouraging you to start incorporating color and pattern into your wardrobe and to step out of your comfort zone.

Something about fun colors just bright things up. I like to be classic in my day to day wear, but when it comes to vacation I like to switch it up and make my wardrobe a little more exciting. This dress was one of those that I saw and thought man, I love that.. but can I pull off that color?! I used to absolutely love orange. I had a girlfriend in college who used to tell me she loved how orange and coral looked on me every time I wore it. She thought it looked good on my skin tone and with my hair, so she would always say she wanted me to wear it. I love brighter colors like this because it makes me feel tanner and it always brings me back to those fun memories in college.

I love the tie detail on this dress. It also comes in yellow and is currently on sale for under $30. Whaaaat?! Such a deal. The light linen fabric makes it so lightweight for the crazy hot summer days we have in Texas. I kept it casual with these wedges, which are definitely my go to, and this round bag that matches perfectly. I topped off the look with white sunnies and this layered choker with a little bit of turquoise on it.

I’m currently in San Miguel and you’ll be seeing lots of fun colors and patterns this week while I’m here. It’s one of those beautiful, colorful cities that you just have to play off of the vibe and embrace it. I am definitely doing that while I’m visiting! Be sure you’re following along on Instagram and watching my stories to see all the fun behind the scenes and lots of great summer outfit and vacay inspo. Especially because we’re off to France a few days later so I’ll probably be embracing more classic colors and patterns while in Paris, and then more classic blue and whites and beachy colors while in the South of France. I am so excited to be enjoying my summer off and to share all of my travels with all of you.
