January is the month of activewear. Not only is everyone trying to whip themselves back into shape to meet their new year’s goals, but the cold weather also makes everyone want to snuggle up in comfy clothes on the couch. All of the business (and cost) associated with the holidays means more people are staying in. I don’t know about you, but when my plans are to sit on the couch, I’m being as comfy as possible. I live in my activewear on the weekends and any time I can during the week days in January (and even into February). I’m in the midst of a Whole 30, so I tend to be home or super comfy, as I’m not doing much in terms of going out and being social. Today, I wanted to share my January activewear favorites to help you stay motivated and get back in shape in the new year!
I am trying to continue my slim down, particularly in the hips area this year. You can read more on that here. I’ve been going back to my trainer on Saturdays, which is the only day I can go based on my schedule. I always learn new exercises I can do on my own when I go though, so I apply those at home how I can! I also took my cardio up a little bit the last few days and added ankle weights when I did my Amanda Kloots dance cardio videos. They are quick and fun, so I love doing them and the ankle weights has added a little extra challenge. What workouts are you doing this new year? I’d love to know! I’ve been entertaining the idea of adding in pilates once a week. If you take it and love it, I’d love to hear why!
Below are my favorite activewear pieces right now. I just ordered a few of the below while putting this post together! Whoops. Whatever, my mindset is that if it helps me stay motivated to workout, then it’s all okay. To shop any of the items below, simply click on the photo and you’ll be taken right to that product’s page.

I rounded up my favorite activewear shoes for you all a week ago, which you can see here. There are SO many cute ones for all different activities!
This three day weekend is just what I needed after being back at work last week. An extra day off really does wonders! I was so productive this weekend. I organized our entire pantry after two big trips to The Container Store, then kept the organization going and went through all of my drawers and folded clothes in my closet. I got rid of quite a bit of stuff and refolded and reorganized everything else. I also cleaned our place and got some blog work done. I worked out both days, too! It’s crazy how productive and relaxing a weekend can be when you aren’t going out and about.
The January Whole 30 always falls at the perfect time for me because I am not a big cold weather fan and I’m always itching for some time to chill and regroup after the holidays. While I’ve had a few times where I’ve wanted wine or an easy meal (like pizza delivery? haha), I’m already feeling better and have loved coming up with new recipes. Per your request, I’ll be sharing new ones with you all, soon. I hope that if you’re off today that you’re enjoying the extra day and that all of your weeks are getting off to a great start!
Oh, and in honor of MLK day, one of my favorite quotes from him to inspire you for the week: “Darkness cannot drive out darkness. Only light can do that.”
