If you’ve ever been a bridesmaid, you may have heard the words “you can wear it again.” This is typically in reference to your bridesmaids dress. You know, the one in a specific color or style that likely has an excess of fabric? Okay, that might be the thought, but I will say that I’ve had some pretty cool brides in my day. We’ve gotten to pick styles of our dresses to flatter our figures best, wear our hair how we want, and I’ve yet to have to wear any sort of giant bow. This past weekend, my bridey took our freedom as bridesmaids a step further.
You’ve probably seen the mismatched bridesmaid look taking off over the past few years. I personally love this look and have long said that I want my girls in a neutral palette with a variety of long dresses they can choose on their own. This was the second wedding I was in where I was given a color scheme and asked to find a long dress that matched. I love this! The first time I bought a dress and wore it first to a black tie event, then to the wedding. This time, I wore this dress first to the wedding, but absolutely plan to wear it again. I’m obsessed with this dress! The back out was perfect for a beach wedding and the button details made me swoon. It comes in a few other colors and would be great for so many occasions. As you can see below, it had a train, but I got it cut off when I got the length altered as to not overstep any boundaries. I think you definitely need to check with your bride before you assume a train, full lace, or other ‘bridal’ feature is okay to have on your dress.
My bride this weekend gave us such a fun gift on the day of her wedding to thank us for being a part of her day. She loves vintage jewels (as do I) so she got all of us earrings from the 1920s and 1930s. Each earring was carefully selected for us based on our styles and personalities which was such a fun touch. We all looked cohesive with our own touches of style, which I love. Although you can’t shop these amazing earrings online, she got them from our mutual favorite shop in Fayetteville, Arkansas called Mae’s. This dress & the rest of my look are shopable below.
If you’re loving the long, neutral dress for the bridesmaid look, I’ve linked some of my current faves that are easily shopable below, too.
