As the temperatures get warmer, the hemlines get shorter. I love when its finally warm enough to wear a short dress or skirt without the need for tights. I still have a need for a spray tan until it’s warm enough for me to lay out, but.. baby steps. You may still need a jacket at night when it’s cooler, but you can get by with your legs showing without freezing.
I saw this cute little dress and loved that it was 3/4 length sleeves, but had a shorter hemline. The wrap style and the ruffle hem gives it fun details that make it flirty and easy. It’s an amazing price point and comes in a few colors, too. This is a dress that you could wear year round!
I’ve been adding white booties to a lot of my outfits lately because they add a fun touch of spring, while still being weather appropriate on the cooler days. I wanted to add them to this look with some white sunnies to soften up the darker colors a bit. This time of year is all about balance, so showing your legs means being more covered on top and vis versa. Really, I think that rule should apply year round, butttt particularly now when the temperatures vary so much.
I’ve been loving all things ruffle hem, which is surprising because I’m not a girly-girl. I like the flowy aspect they add to a look. It looks so effortless and easy! I like to edge my ruffles up with a leather moto, a pair of booties, some studded shoes, or something else. Adding in leather is a great way to contrast with the frills from the ruffles.

This past weekend was full of work and rain. From getting things ready around our place to shoot more of it, to shooting for a few hours yesterday, to working on blog posts and outfit planning, and working on a report for my job.. it was a busy weekend! I’m out of town for the next three weekends, so I didn’t do much besides try to get caught up. This Monday is a very busy one for me at work as I try to wrap up a big evaluation report I have due. I am lucky enough to have a massage scheduled after work though thanks to my thoughtful husband! I am oh so excited it’s a short, four day work week for me before I’m off on the first of a few adventures. Hope all of your weeks get off to a great start and that you had a fabulous weekend! XO
