Weekend Wear

Shop the look below:

Happy Friday friends! This week was a crazy one. I had Monday off (Holy productive day! I wish all my work weeks could be four days) and then came down with a cold causing me to feel horrible at work on Tuesday, miss work on Wednesday, and feel rough again yesterday. I’m finally feeling good and last night was able to clean our apartment and rest. I worked on a puzzle and watched The Girl on the Train. I read the book a few years ago and was so excited for the movie to come out, so I used still not feeling well as a good excuse to watch it on a week night. I hope you all had a great week! Regardless, you’re probably glad to see the weekend. Let’s be honest– its always better on the weekends. That’s why today I’m talking about weekend wear.

No matter your plans this weekend, you can wear some version of this outfit. No, really. Sitting at home watching Netflix all weekend? This slip dress is so comfortable. Plus, this cozy duster sweater will keep you warm and cozy. (Is anyone else always cold?! I swear my normal body temp is lower than the average person.) This sweater is under $30. Hello steal!! If you’re running errands you could pair this with a sneaker or a flat bootie. Date night? Throw on some OTK boots or a high heeled bootie. The options between slip dresses and long sweaters (or even jackets) is endless. The key when buying a slip dress is making sure that it doesn’t look like lingerie. Keep it classy here, folks. As much as we all wish you can totally wear your PJS or undergarments in public, its just not quiche. My advice is to avoid a silk slip dress, as thta fabric screams bedtime to me in this style. Also, make sure that there isn’t too much lace. If the bottom is lace, I say go with a pattern or make sure the color of the lace and fabric is different. (See this lace slip dress I styled a while back here). If you haven’t jumped on the slip dress train yet– just do ittt. This is as close to PJs in public as you can get in my opinion and that is why I adore this outfit combo!

I’m going to do a slower-paced workout tomorrow after almost a full week off due to being sick to ease back into it. But next, Saturday.. it’s on per usual. Anyone else feel like they can do their best workout on Saturday mornings?! For some reason I just do better when I’m not rushed to get home and let my pup out, or clean, or finish work, or get somewhere else. I LOVE IT. I need to start working out on Sundays, buttt.. it is the official day of rest. And I’m kinda a rule follower. haha. Regardless, next Saturday if you are in Dallas be sure to join me at Soul Cycle in Uptown. I am hosting a bride ride with Wedding Wire and another Dallas blogger for all of you bride-to-be girls + your bridesmaid(s)/MOH or fiancé. You can sign up here: wwxscdallas.eventbrite.com. If the event fills up, sign up for the wait list, as if there are enough then they may add enough class. Oh and the best part? Its FREE. Woo Wooo! Come spin your little heart outs with me.

If your weekend plans include online shopping (but when do they not?) then I’ve got some great weekend sales for you! I’ve hyperlinked all the stores for you below and if you need a coupon code it’s listed. Happy sale shopping!
