Kimonos or duster jackets are such a versatile piece of clothing. I love pieces of clothing like this that make a statement and that you’ll get great use out of because you can style them so many different ways! Today, I’m sharing a roundup of the cutest spring and summer kimonos and talking about a few different ways you can style them.

KEEP IT SIMPLE

If you’re styling a printed kimono, let that be the statement piece and keep the rest of your look pretty simple. I’d opt for neturals if your kimono has color in it, but adding color is fine if your kimono is white, black, or another neutral. Keeping the rest of your look simple is the biggest key when it comes to styling a kimono for spring and summer.

PAIR IT WITH JEANS/PANTS

You can wear your kimonos over a simple cami with jeans or pants like I did here. When styling it this way, I prefer a heel or wedge with the look, as it just makes the kimono flow so pretty when you’re walking around in it!

WEAR IT WITH SHORTS

I also love kimonos with shorts as it warms up more. You can either style your kimono this with wedges for a little night out or more dressed up look or keep it simple with sneakers or sandals. Shorts give the look a little more of a casual vibe in my opinion, so you can dress it up or down as needed depending on where you’re wearing it!

WEAR IT OVER DRESSES

Kimonos look adorable thrown on over a dress, too! Again, keep it relatively simple and let the kimono be the star. The same goes for dresses as with shorts, pick your shoes based on where you’re wearing it. Some kimonos are dressy enough that you can wear them with a dressier heel over a nice dress to a wedding! This is a perfect solution when you know it will get cooler at night.

WEAR IT AS A SWIMSUIT COVER UP

This may be one of my favorite ways to style a kimono or duster jacket because it gives a little drama to a swimsuit. You can throw a pair of shorts over your swimsuit if needed to wear it out and about after the pool or the beach, too.

This past weekend start off with a mani/pedi at my favorite salon here in Dallas, Bellacures. Then, my husband and I went to try a new Italian restaurant, Fachini in Highland Park Village for date night. We came home and watched All The Money in the World and went to bed pretty early. The next morning I slept in for the first time in a while, worked out, cleaned, and relaxed a little bit. I’ve been trying not to work on Saturdays outside of posting on Instagram, so its nice just to sit back and relax. We went out to get some Tex Mex with friends and then grabbed some wine at a cute new wine bar, Leelas afterwards. We had a family Sunday mixed with laziness and a little productivity. We went to the cutest little garden shop, Rodenta’s, to get some more plants for our house and continue the search for the perfect fiddle leaf fig tree for our living room. It was such a great, relaxing weekend with my sweet little family! Whatever you all did, I hope it was amazing! XO

In case you missed it, be sure to check out last week’s Friday Favorites post about palm print clothing and accessories, which I’ve been eyeing because I leave for the beach Thursday morning this week. I also shared my Rewardstyle Conference recap and a personal post about dealing with social anxiety.
