A reason to get all dressed up for a good cause? Yes please. It is so fun to play dress up a few times a year for some of the black tie charity galas we attend. This one was for Salvation Army’s young professionals group, Echelon. Echelon is a community of diverse young adults collectively rising up to serve The Salvation Army through fellowship and networking, donations and fundraising, and service and volunteering. Echelon was founded in 2010 in Dallas, Texas and has since been branded as the National Young Adult Auxiliary of The Salvation Army. There are several other chapters of Echelon throughout the nation– check the site for a city near you and if you are in Dallas– please join in on the fun for a great cause!
This year, 316 Design Source was in charge of planning the event and they did a wonderful job. They also provided me a wonderful dress for the evening! If you are in the Dallas area– you should not only stop by to see their amazing storefront full of cute gifts, clothing, and jewelry for purchase, but also to see their collection of clothes for rent. That’s right, I was able to try on a variety of dresses in store without waiting for them to ship and pick out what I liked best. Then, I picked it up before my event, wore it, and returned it for them to clean afterwards.
Renting my dress locally was so easy and such a great deal! I can’t recommend 316 enough. I also got my boyfriend’s little swag boutenniere there. He and everyone else loved this fun & fuzzy little addition to his suit. I think I’ll have to get him a few more in different colors.
If you’re not in the Dallas area– you can shop my look for the black tie gala below.
Also, how cute is my date? Plus, he’s a great sport for taking photos with me before.
