Sometimes you just want to make a statement. Often times, people wait for an occasion such as a trip or a special night out. I don’t like spending my life waiting. I think we have to make our own opportunities and getting dressed up just because I feel like it is excuse enough for me. I’m loving the statement that the duster jacket can make. You may recall I wore one during fashion week (as seen in this post) paired with a neutral slip dress. I kept it neutral, so while the look made a statement, it was a more subtle one. I saw this green duster jacket and loved that not only the style of the duster jacket, but also the bold color for Fall made a statement. This one also comes in a gorgeous marigold color and I truly went back and forth three times trying to figure out which one to order. I settled on this one and may end up with the other soon, too.
There are a few ways to style a duster jacket. You can keep it on the simple side like I did here with a white cami, jeans, and heels. You can style it similar to how I did during NYFW and throw it on over a slip dress with sneakers. For a night out, they also look amazing with heels- whether that is in the from of a classic pump, a dressier bootie, or an OTK boot. Another way is to wear it as a dress. This one can actually be wrapped around to be a dress! I’d have to secure it with fashion tape or a safety pin or two or just style a slip dress underneath it, then wrap the duster jacket around and secure it with the attached tie.
Duster jackets aren’t going anywhere soon, so be sure to grab one sooner than later! They are such a fun piece of clothing to add on for a little drama.
