I’m so excited for today’s post, because I am all about working smarter, not harder & that is what this post is all about. I’m sharing five simple changes that make a huge difference. These are just every day little things I’ve switched up that have made an overall positive impact in how I feel, so I wanted to share them with you all, as they are things you all could easily adopt into your daily life!

First things first, let’s talk about this look. This set is from Free People Movement, which has become one of my favorite activewear brands. I love them because they cute, fit so well, & are functional. Whether I’m wearing them running, to a workout class, for an at home workout, or just running errands– they work for all different activities. This particular set comes in six colors! I’m wearing a size XS in the leggings & a Small in the bra top for reference. Both fit TTS (true to size). I got this snakeskin printed denim jacket a few months ago & love it paired over this set as an athleisure look. Perfect for a gym to errands look this Fall! I’m in a size XS in the jacket. It has an oversized fit.

Free People has been one of my long time ‘go to’ brands for clothing, but recently for all things wellness, too. Not only do I love their activewear & athleisure, I absolutely love the curated selection of beauty, wellness, & health products they have on their site. Several of the things I am talking about below that have made positive impacts on my every day health are items I found while looking through their site! Keep reading for my five simple changes that make a huge difference. I’m sharing them all below!

FIVE SIMPLE CHANGES THAT MAKE A HUGE DIFFERENCE: Sharing five simple things I've been implenting lately that have made a big impact in my health & wellness.

All of these are just things that have worked for me & have made me feel better in the day to day lately, so I thought I would share. I’m obviously not a doctor or an expert, but I am a big believer in small changes over time making big differences on our overall health & wellness. Below I’m sharing the five simple changes that make a huge difference in how I feel lately.

FIVE SIMPLE CHANGES THAT MAKE A HUGE DIFFERENCE

GET MORE WATER

I am a huge believer that water can cure just about anything. Dull skin or dark circles? Drink more water. Long day? Take a bath. Long month? Go to the beach. Water is essential for your skin, body, & mind to function best & chances are, almost all of us could focus more on increasing our water intake. I know when I focus on this, it helps so much. A new cute water bottle that you keep with you all day long can help remind you to reach for the water throughout your day. Set alerts on your phone throughout the day and chug as needed to meet your goals!

SWITCH UP YOUR EXERCISE

In addition to my usual workout routine, I’ve recently added in running & walking with the Couch 2 5k app that has helped me increase how far I can run gradually. You do it three times per week & it has helped me not be able to run more than two minutes without stopping to being able to run a mile. Charles, Maddie, & I have also been adding in post-dinner walks into our routine a few times per week. We leave our phones behind most nights & just go for a walk. It’s amazing to talk distraction free, get some movement in, & enjoy some fresh air.

I’ve also been trying to intensify every day simple movements. Wearing one pound wrist weights while cleaning, going for a walk around the block, or even cooking can turn simple movements into little workouts. This is especially helpful on days you may not be able to squeeze in a full workout! Switching up your exercise and trying new workouts not only keeps your body guessing, but your mind!

If you’re feeling unmotivated, try snagging a new pair of sneakers, some new workout gear, or a new workout outfit to help motivate you. Also, try a new podcast or playlist– both of which are FREE!

TAKE YOUR SUPPLEMENTS

Probiotics are so important to the health of your gut, skin, & entire body. Since adding probiotics into my morning routine, I’ve noticed such a huge difference in how I feel. I am learning more & more about gut health & realizing just how incredibly important it is. Taking probiotics is one of the easiest ways to improve your gut health. This is my favorite brand of probiotics that I’ve been taking recently & loving. You’ve probably heard me talk about Sakara Life before & know I am huge fan of their meals & products!

I’ve also focused more on ensuring I get in all my other vitamins. Whether your plan is to take your supplements or you’re making more of an effort to eat better & consume your vitamins naturally, it’s important to make sure you’re getting them. Omega, Vitamin D, & a Glow Supplement (Hyaluronic Acid + Vitamins C & E) are a few of my favorites. Ashwagandha is also such a great supplement that is supposed to help with stress.

CARE LESS

Yup, I mean that. I stopped caring so much about little things & focus on what really matters. This makes such a big difference in my mental health & overall wellness. Instead of spending 30-40 minutes on fixing my hair for work when it just doesn’t matter most days, I use some hair blotters to get sweat out of my hair after a workout & shower with a shower cap on, then pull my hair back into bun. This is time I can spend reading, relaxing, or even sleeping in. It’s simple, but the mindset of I should care less has helped me prioritize things & have more down time.

CUT BACK ON CAFFEINE

Caffeine not only often dehydrates you, but it’s linked to anxiety & sleep problems as well. It’s no secret that I am a HUGE fan of my morning almond milk chai lattes, but unfortunately, they are full of sugar & have some caffeine. I’m still indulging in my favorite morning caffeinated beverage once or so a week & when I travel, but for the day to day, I am limiting my caffeine consumption. Find a healthy switch for your favorite caffeine drink whether it’s decaf coffee for regular, sparkling water for soda, or mud water (my new favorite find) for chai. There are always health alternatives & even starting out once or twice a week can make a big difference!
