I want to continue to use my blog as a place to be personal and share things close to my heart. One thing I am very passionate about, is animal rescue, which I shared with you all earlier this month. Today, I am sharing about Autism and hoping to bring more awareness to this Disorder. I have teamed up with one of my blogger babes to encourage all of you to Light it Up Blue on Sunday, April 2nd. What exactly does this mean? Well, April 2nd is the 9th annual World Autism Awareness Day and wearing blue is a way to show your support and bring awareness. Autism organizations around the world partner up this day to help celebrate with unique fundraising and events. Tons of landmarks or buildings will glow blue on this day, even the London Eye will light up blue! Autism is a cause is close to both mine and Anna‘s hearts.
You may recognize my friend Anna from a post I did back in February celebrating Galentine’s Day. Anna is the gorgeous girl behind Fleurdille. She is a wife, a mom to two beautiful little girls, a blogger boss babe, and a Speech-Language Pathologist. Anna has effortless, everyday feminine style, and I call her the queen of neutrals, because she is. The first time I met Anna, we realized that I actually went to high school with her husband, who was a year ahead of me. It has been so fun finding all the people we have in common!
In my role as a School Psychologist, I work with Speech Pathologists daily. Both of us work with children or people with Autism on a daily basis. We both help with testing to identify Autism and then work to come up with and help implement interventions and provide support as needed. Anna’s role as a Speech Pathologist approaches things from the language perspective, particularly pragmatic or social language. My role as a School Psychologist works with emotional and behavioral components of Autism, as well as with social needs.

I love this chambray material of my jumpsuit. It’s the perfect blue color and is such a soft material. I love the back detail of this jumpsuit. There is another that is almost the same but laces up the back instead of a larger tie like mine. Both are available in a romper version and the line also includes dresses and tops. I’ve included my other favorites below, too!

Please remember to wear blue on Sunday, April 2nd and tag #LIUB on social media. Also, if you can, any donation to Autism Speaks helps. A little about Autism Speaks: Autism Speaks is dedicated to promoting solutions, across the spectrum and throughout the lifespan, for the needs of individuals with autism and their families through advocacy and support; increasing understanding and acceptance of autism spectrum disorder; and advancing research into causes and better interventions for autism spectrum disorder and related conditions. They are such a wonderful cause! Anything helps in regards to Autism awareness. Whether its you being more understanding or kind when you come across someone who you suspect or know has Autism, or with their family, or if you can donate your time or money to helping. I truly feel so blessed to be able to work students on the Autism Spectrum and their families. These children truly light up my days.
I’m excited to share that I will donate a percentage of all profits made from my blog this year and/or in coming years to both animal rescue and Autism. This will be another way I can continue to give back to these causes that mean so much to me! XO
Love this post! Thank you for sharing the information. Will definitely going to wear blue on April 2nd. You both are looking gorgeous.
