Friday Favorites: Statement Blazers

Blazers are such a wonderfully classic, yet versatile piece of clothing. I always seem to have a collection of them going in my closet because I end up getting so much good wear out of them. You can find them in all fabrics, colors, styles, and price ranges which means its truly a clothing item everyone needs a few options of in their closet. I recently shared the deep red velvet blazers shown below on Instagram and tons of you freaked over it. For good reason, too. The rich velvet texture and the oversized boyfriend fit made a white cami, jeans, and a tshirt a head turning outfit. Since then, I’ve been looking saving all the ones that catch my eye so today’s Friday Favorites is all about statement blazers.

Let’s cut to my round up of blazers first. I’ll talk more about my plaid & velvet blazer in a minute. There are so many amazing ones available it was hard to narrow it down to my favorites!! To shop any of the blazers below, simply click on the photo and you’ll be taken to that product’s page.

Can we talk about the marigold velvet blazer?! I’m dead over it. It’s such a big color for Fall and although yellow isn’t something I usually gravitate towards, this one is too gorgeous to pass up. Seriously buying it as soon as I’m finished writing this to make sure I get one in my size! The three in the middle of the top row are ‘splurge-worthy’ options, but I loved them. If they are in your price range, they’ll be amazing pieces to wear again and again. I really wanted the blue velvet one in the middle for fashion week (it has matching shorts), but I kept missing my size in it. Something about a metallic or sequin blazer always gives me Gossip Girl flashbacks a la Serena Van Der Woodsen. I love how a sequin jacket can elevate any look instantly. Which one is your favorite?!

Let’s talk a little bit about my plaid blazer. I love that it is oversized (I would actually size down when ordering) and that it has green velvet detailing. Above I showed four ways to wear a blazer: on, over your shoulders, relaxed, and carried. I love that you can switch it up to keep a blazer feeling fresh and effortless. I wore this one with my favorite white cami that comes in a few colors and is one of the best ‘cost per wear (CPW)’ items in my closet. I seriously wear this bad boy like four times a week. #noshame The jeans I’m wearing are hands down my new favorite. I love the hem detail and also that they aren’t distressed anywhere but at the bottom. Not only does it give it a cleaner sort of look, but it means I can wear them to work on Fridays! I went with a white pump to go with my cami. I don’t listen to the ‘no white after labor day’ rule, so these stay in my rotation for months. I finished it off with a metallic clutch that I’ve been carrying non stop since I got it.

This was quite a week. It’s crazy how quickly your weeks can take a turn to stressful and mentally exhausting. I’m still working on balance between everything I have going on, but I’m making progress so that’s great. I’ll be sharing all about my daily and weekly routine with you all, soon so stay tuned! We have a lot of friends coming in town this weekend for the Arkansas vs. Texas A&M football game at Cowboy’s stadium, so we’ll have a busy few days! We always ride out to the game in a party bus with a group of friends, which is so fun. The game is super early at 11AM this year, so I’ll be armed with donuts and mimosas for the journey there.
