SUMMER SLIP DRESS

Few things stand the test of fashion time quite like a slip dress. The silhouette is classic, flattering, and chic. I love putting modern twists on the slip dress like a different neckline, a trendy pattern, or by layering with them. You can wear slip dresses year round if you layer them right, so they have a great CPW (cost per wear) value. I love a good summer slip dress, because you dress them down with sneakers or flat sandals for day time and then switch into heels with a clutch for night time.

You all know that I have been crushing on polka dots lately, so when I saw this dress I had to have it. I hadn’t styled navy polka dots yet and I loved how this was such a modern version of the classic pattern that is so trendy right now. The swoop neckline, the midi style, and the slit were all just too perfect to pass up. Plus, the price point is insane. This dress is such high quality that you’d think it’d be $200+ but it’s under $65! Such a steal for this piece. I dressed it up for a summer date night look here, but it also looks adorable with sneakers and a denim jacket.

The shoes I’m wearing are such a good summer pair. I love the white and clear mix up. They seriously seem to go with just about any dress I pair them with! This envelope clutch has been my go to year after year. I have it in several colors and they come out with it in new patterns and colors each year. It’s a classic style and holds everything you need it to! I topped off the look with these fun round Gucci sunglasses. They will forever remind me of last summer in Italy and Greece for our wedding and honeymoon, which I love. I topped of the look with a red lip, because I wanted to keep it classic, but a little fun.

I am currently in San Miguel enjoying a little girls trip to celebrate the start of my summer vacation. I have just a few days in town before leaving on a trip for our one year wedding anniversary with my husband to France.
