SUMMER TRAVEL ESSENTIALS
Today marks my first day of Summer vacation! Woohoo! I get the next (almost) two months off of work at my day job and I am oh so happy about it. For those of you who don’t know, I work full time as a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology with special education students in a school district. The kids and teachers finished up about two weeks ago, but I had to work through yesterday. Since I basically work two full time jobs between that and the blog, I have a work hard, play hard mindset. I’ve worked SO much this past year, so I plan to take full advantage of the time off and enjoy myself. First things first, some trips! I’ve got travel on my mind, so today I am sharing my Summer Travel Essentials for my Friday Favorites post.
I leave tomorrow evening for San Miguel de Allende in Mexico with three other bloggers and my photographer. Be sure to follow along on Instagram, because this looks like the most amazing city and I can’t wait to share photos with you all. You can keep up with all the behind the scenes on stories, too. I get back home next Thursday, which is my birthday and then leave again on Monday night for France with my husband for our anniversary! Go, go, go. I’m a fairly experienced when it comes to travel, so I’d like to think I have a good idea of what the essentials are when packing and traveling.
To shop any of my summer travel essentials below, simply click on any of the photos and you’ll be taken right to that product’s page. I included a few options for some items, like travel pillows, because really I think you need different ones for different trips.
Most of these items are things that I like to have in my carry on, so they are easily accessible and I can use them throughout the flight, especially on longer ones. I like to keep some beauty essentials, my make up, camera, and laptop all with me on the plane. That way, I don’t have to completely stress if my bag is misplaced. I have the tote bag I included in black and it is legit THE best bag for work and travel. I carry it every day and on every trip! It has pockets for seriously everything including a padded laptop compartment. I’m obsessed. The black wallet or document organizer is another great thing to have when you’re traveling so you can keep all the little things you may have with you organized. I use one of the zipper compartments for lipstick and chapstick and another for other little things I may be traveling with or need to keep up with.
I use my laptop and movies on board if WIFI and movies are available, but I never travel without a book just in case. My skin gets so dried out flying and on long flights I always want to brush my teeth and reapply deodorant and perfume so I don’t feel too gross when I land, so I like to keep those easily accessible. Some sort of mask before landing always helps on longer flights, too. Chapstick (I’m legit addicted to this one) and hand sanitizer are always in my bag no matter where I’m going.
I hope this helps you when packing for your next trip! I always share travel guides and now, outfit recaps of my trips, so be sure to check out my travel section for more. Some recent ones include my trip to Boston, Miami, and Santa Fe. My Positano and Santorini travel guides are two of my most viewed travel posts, too.
Whatever you are up to this weekend, I hope it’s fabulous! XO
That new luggage is calling my name!

This is, by far, the most thorough, put together travel essentials list I’ve ever seen and I am LOVING it! Making a mental note of practically, like everything, for my upcoming trip.
