SXSW Events

Acuvue contacts have been the brand I've worn most the past few years. I've been using their Oasis lenses and have loved them! I'm excited to try these new lenses, too.

I’ve gotten a lot of questions about some of the events I attended when in Austin this past weekend and beginning of the week for SXSW. I figured I’d take today to give you all a look into SXSW events and share more about one specific one I attended.

SXSW EVENTS

I attended SXSW with my blog friends Brooke and Ally this year. Our friend Rachel, who has a startup for an app called Rent My Wardrobe (basically, the Airbnb of fashion.. it’s incredible!) also came down with us. We all had a variety of events and meetings set up throughout the weekend that we attended. Some events are just networking opportunities, some are partnerships with brands, and others might be something like a gifting suite where you are seeing a brand’s new line. We got to pop in for makeovers, play with rescue puppies, go to a wine tasting, and learn more about some new technology or apps on the market. We all found out about events different ways, but basically we just put it out there (on social media, websites, etc.) that we were attending and then people reach out with their events or opportunities. It’s a really fun, but busy weekend. I met so many incredible new people and got to connect with some amazing brands.

LENSCRAFTERS X GOOP

The last event I attended during this year’s SXSW was LensCrafters x Goop event. You all may already know that I absolutely love Goop! They have a store in Highland Park Village in Dallas and are always having the most amazing pop ups and events. I jump at any chance to attend any of the events they host because they are so fun, so well thought out, and include great partnerships with brands that I love. This year, Goop had a pop up on South Congress, one of my favorite areas of Austin. On Tuesday evening, they partnered with LensCrafters for an event at their space that I attended to showcase their amazing assortment of frames with Transitions lenses. I got to try on a few different ones from brands like Prada and Ray-Ban and then tried them on outside to see how they work! They really are incredible.

The event was so fun with healthy with Goop-style cocktails and got to see a demo of new contacts – Acuvue Oasys with Transitions. I love the technology and ease with Transitions in both glasses and contact lenses.

I left with a few new friends, a pair of frames, and an appointment for my next eye exam and lenses.

VISION DAYS

I have worn glasses and contacts since I was in middle school and have had several pairs of glasses from LensCrafters over the years! They carry so many amazing brands and you can get eye exams on site which makes it so easy. Incorporating various lenses over the years to fit my needs has been key to maintaining my eye health. Another perk is the right lens helps protect the delicate skin around your eyes. Did you know that squinting leads to those fine lines and wrinkles? None of us want that, right? Well, one of the reasons we squint most is because of light sensitivity. Because Transitions are so easy they really help with this! Having the same lenses that you can wear inside and outdoors is really cool.

I went straight from the LensCrafters x Goop event to the airport for a quick flight home to my sweet little fam. I have the next few days of my Spring Break to relax, catch up on sleep, and hang with my sweet pup during the day. I am going to Punta Mita, Mexico in two weeks so I also need to get back into my workout and healthy eating routine! I love indulging when I travel, but it definitely means putting in a little extra work after the fact. I hope that you all loved seeing a glimpse in SXSW events. Stay tuned for my outfit recap from the trip which I’ll be sharing later this week! XO

Vision Days is currently happening at LensCrafters where you can get 50% off lenses with a frame purchase and you can save $50 on contacts when you get a six month supply purchase of daily disposable lenses. To get more information on Vision Days, visit: https://www.lenscrafters.com/.
