Thanksgiving is just around the corner! This is one of my favorite holidays. I love the simplicity of gathering around a table with friends and/or family and taking time to reflect on what you’re grateful for in life. I wanted to take today to share our Friendsgiving with you all and to provide you some Thanksgiving inspo on what to wear, tablescape ideas, hostess gift ideas, and a new recipe. There is also a great giveaway at the end of this post where you have a chance to win a giftcard to Nordstrom!! It’d be so helpful for getting your tablescape or holiday decor/shopping started.
Be sure to check out all the other amazing ladies who were a part of Friendsgiving this year! We were missing a few amazing girls who couldn’t make it for various reasons, but am so glad that some of us could get together. I love this picture below of all of us on our phones getting shots for Instagram stories or whatever else. We did put the phones down after this and actually enjoy ourselves, though! haha #reality
WHAT TO WEAR
I like to be comfortable, but cute for the holidays. For our Friendsgiving, I went with comfortable jeans (with a little stretch), a classic white t-shirt, a suede jacket, a scarf, and heeled booties. My jacket is such a great price and comes in five colors!! I loved some of the looks the other girls went with, too! Amanda wore an oversized sweater and faux leather leggings which is always a great idea when you are going to be eating a lot! I also love Brooke’s easy sweater dress.

TABLESCAPE IDEAS
I love the way this tablescape turned out. It was perfectly festive and included all my favorite fall colors! The pumpkins were a perfect touch. I absolutely love setting up a beautiful table! It is a great way to set a tone for your meal and guests! Brooke was our hostess this year and her and I have the same mindset when it comes to dishes. We think white makes the perfect blank canvas for food! I’m including a bunch of what she used to decorate her table for our Friendsgiving below. I hope this helps inspire you for your own Thanksgiving tablescape!

HOSTESS GIFT IDEAS
I’ll admit I bring wine as a gift for the hostess more often than anything, but there are a lot of other great ideas. One of my favorite things to receive, besides wine, is a candle. Something seasonal is always a great idea if you are unsure of their favorite scent. I also love a cute dish towel or a new cook book. I’m including some of my top picks for hostess gift ideas for you all below.

WHAT TO COOK
I brought the dressing or stuffing to our Friendsgiving this year! I used Charles’s mom’s recipe and it is so easy and delicious. She is a phenomenal cook so I always know any of her recpies will be a hit! In case you wanted to try something new for your Thanksgiving this year, I wanted to share it with you all!
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 9×12 pan of cornbread
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 4 stalks of celery, finely chopped
- 2 Tablespoons of butter*
- 10 saltine crackers
- 1-1.5 cups of chicken broth
- 3 eggs
- 3 Tablespoons of sage
- Salt + Pepper
DIRECTIONS:
- Preheat your oven to 375 degrees.
- Saute your onion and celery in butter until soft. *I actually used a dairy free butter alternative.
- Crumble cornbread and saltine crackers in a large bowl.
- Add vegetables, 1-1.5 cups of chicken broth, 3 beaten eggs, and spices. You want to adjust your broth so that your dressing is wet, but not soupy.
- Bake in a large baking dish until set and lightly browned, about 20 minutes.

Brooke also shared a recipe for Pumpkin Mac & Cheese and Green Bean Casserole in her post about Friendsgiving, which you can find here.
Even if cooking isn’t your thing, don’t let that deter you from bringing something to or even hosting a Friendsgiving. There are so many options for places to pick things up so you can ensure you’ll have a delicious meal!
If you don’t have time for a Friendsgiving meal this year, try to host a Christmas night with your friends or something else if you can! I think its so fun! We all went around the table and shared ‘pits’ and ‘peaks’ or what is new in our life lately. However you plan to celebrate, I hope you have a wonderful day!! XO
