I spent this past weekend in Austin for South By Southwest (SXSW). SXSW is a big film, music, and media festival that is a week long. It’s been around since 1987 (as long as me!) and grows each year. I love any excuse for a road trip, especially to Austin, so I was so excited when two of my blogger girlfriends mentioned they wanted to go as well. I went with my friend Lynlee from Gal About Town and Brooke from One Small Blonde for all of the fun festivities over the second weekend!
I’m going to do an Austin travel guide, soon, but for now, I’m going to be rounding up my outfits from this weekend. If you follow me on Instagram (which c’mon already, you should be!) then you probably saw all of these along with how much fun we had eating and drinking our way through the city via my Instastories. I wanted to be sure that you could get another look at each of these because I am basically obsessed with all of them. I love a good excuse for a new-weekend wardrobe and SXSW provided the perfect one. Plus, coming off a four day cleanse, I thought I totally earned it, right?!

We got into town early Friday and I switched out of my t-shit and mule slides and into this little lace off-the-shoulder top and my fav statement booties. These sold out quick in this print, but there are other colors available and I’ve included some similar snakeskin options. I added a classic bandana, a layered choker, and my go-to round sunnies. These high waisted jeans that I am addicted to were perfect to pair with this crop top. I don’t need my stomach hanging out when I’m eating and drinking all day!

Friday evening we went to an amazing dinner hosted by Instyler at one of my all time favorite hotels- Hotel Saint Cecilia. I love it so much that before deciding on a destination wedding, my fiancé and I seriously considered getting married here. It was such a dreamy dinner and I met so many amazing people. I wore this little red romper with black block heels and a black western-style belt. This romper has such fun details: it has a floral texture to it and laces up the back. I was wearing a Small and definitely should have gotten an XS. It was big on me, which belting helped some with. I also put a black bralette underneath just to be safe. I topped this outfit off with a turquoise choker. 1) I love turquoise, always and 2) it felt so ‘Austin.’ This one is a part of a set that can be worn together or separately. It’s like three necklaces in one! I’m including a similar turquoise choker and some other favorite red rompers below, too.

Saturday during the day we got out and went to brunch, then wandered around South Congress restaurant/bar hopping. I wore this fun little plunging romper. I loved the light blush color and the detailing on the front. The ruffle detail on the hem of the shorts and the sleeve was so fun, too. I paired it with a grey bootie that was comfortable for lots of walking, a white saddle bag, and a denim jacket. I layered on several choker necklaces to edge up the ruffles a bit, too. This romper would be perfect for so many occasions during the Spring and Summer. It’s so light weight and comfortable, too. I held it in place on the front with a little fashion tape, but if you have a smaller bust you’d probably be fine with nothing.

Saturday evening we went to grab drinks on a patio before a later-dinner reservation because the weather was perfect. I had eaten so much this weekend I was happy to wear this lose fitting dress. I loved the off-the-shoulder tie detail and it was so comfortable. It comes in two other colors, also! I’m considering buying it in another color because I think I would get so much good wear out of it. It’s a piece that can be styled so many ways– both for casual and more dressed up occasions. It’d be perfect for a vacation or just for throwing on to run around in. It has a subtle raw hem, too that adds a fun little detail to it.

Sunday morning we were definitely feeling our weekend. We got up early and grabbed a relaxed breakfast and lots of coffee to get us through our last few hours in Austin. I wore my fav denim shorts everrrrr with flat black booties, my black western belt again, and a blue striped shirt. I am so obsessed with blue stripes in the Spring and Summer and this top was so comfy. Plus, its a huge steal at under $25. Like, really no excuse not to grab it asap. It has been selling quick, so I’ve included a few other similar styles that I love.

Last but not least, my road trip home look. We made a pitstop in Waco to try and go to Magnolia (anyone else obsessed with Chip and Joanna?!) because we wanted a cupcake from the bakery. They were sadly closed, but we got to explore (without fighting the crowds) and take a few pictures anyways. It’s just two minutes or so off the highway so it’s a super easy pit stop. This is probably one of my new favorite things in my closet just because it is SO comfortable and versatile. I styled a different color in an Instagram a few weeks ago tucked in with jeans and this one I just threw up in a knot so I could wear it with my denim shorts. I put on snakeskin booties because as soon as I got back in town, my fiancé and I had a date evening planned at one of our favorite rooftop bars/restaurants and I wanted to be ready to go! This top comes in like 6 colors between the two stores and will seriously be one of the best things in your closet. For winter, its long enough for leggings, but for summer it’s light weight enough that you won’t get hot in it.
