Our Wedding Day: Part Three, Wedding Photos

Happy #WeddingWednesday! In case you are behind, I’ve been sharing our wedding day photos in chronological order from our wedding day this past Summer in Florence, Italy. Be sure to see Part One and Part Two to catch up!  You can also see all of my other wedding posts throughout the planning process here. Today, I am sharing our wedding day: part three, our wedding photos.

After our ceremony ended, we took some photos with our immediate family members.

After we took some quick family photos and then drove off to Piazzale Michelangelo to take our wedding photos as a couple. I shared that we decided against a first look, so we waited to get all of our photos together until after the ceremony. Our guests were back at the villa enjoying aperitifs and cocktails while we were away! Piazzale Michelangelo is a lookout point up on top of a hill in Florence with a gorgeous panoramic view of the city. You can see the Duomo, the Ponte Vecchio, and more all from this location. As you’ll see in our photos together, it is beautiful. It is also VERY crowded almost any time of day, so we were definitely fighting off crowds of people to get these shots!

As I mentioned last week while sharing photos from our ceremony, it was SO windy outside that I had to take my veil off mid-ceremony. We took it with us to try and put it back on for photos, but it was even more windy up on top of the hill, as you can see by our hair, so we didn’t get to.

As you can see from the photo above and the ones below, my hair was all over the place due to the wind. We had to switch sides a time or two to try and make it work in my favor, but for the most part, we just chose to embrace it.

It makes me so happy to look through these again as I post them!! We’ve had so much fun choosing which ones we want to frame and absolutely love them all! We embraced the wind and got our pictures done faster than we thought so we could go back and enjoy the rest of our wedding night with our guests! As I finish this post up, we’re actually talking about a trip next Summer for our first anniversary. Time flies, but photos like these help these precious moments stand still in our minds forever. Thanks for stopping by and letting us share our wedding day with you all! I’ll be sharing our first dances and dinner with you all next week and then of course, the PARTAY! XO

Your dress is seriously just SO beautiful!! What is the exact dress on the website? I’ve tried to look for it because I am in love but I can’t figure out which one it is!

      Hi Blaire,

This is actually the Ankara dress, but I customized it and ordered additional lace to make my off-the-shoulder sleeves. They were removable, so toward the end of the night before I changed I took them off so I could dance easier. Hope that helps!!

Thank you so much for the sweet comment!

      Xo, Lauren
