Our Wedding Day: Part Five, The Reception

Our Wedding Photos: Part Five, The Reecption + Dance Party via A Lo Profile

It’s the day that all of you have been waiting for! Unless of course, you were at my wedding in which case you may have been fearful of this day. Today, I’m sharing our wedding day: part five, the reception aka the dance partay that resulted in most of us at an outdoor club in Florence until 3:00 in the morning. We were told to do as the Italians do, and so, we did. Our wedding reception photos officially ended when the party wrapped up at our villa, so all that lives on from the wee hours of the morning our the photos on our iPhones and shared iCloud group. Sorry, but those are reserved just for the amazing crew that made the trek to Italy to celebrate with us! Don’t worry though, there are still so many great photos for you all today!!

If you’re behind on wedding photos, be sure to catch up before diving into our wedding reception photos today: Part One: Getting Ready, Part Two: Ceremony, Part Three: Wedding Photos, and Part Four: Dances & Dinner. You can catch up on all wedding related posts here.

As we were wrapping up dinner and cutting our cake, our DJ (pictured above) started his lights and then came the smoke detector. A little background on our DJ (which I shared before in this post): this is not the original DJ we booked. He came from the same company, but wasn’t the specific one we chose. There was a bit of a language barrier, so it was challenging to perfectly communicate with him, as his English was not the best. From showing up in a shirt with the F word and Madonna on it (I’m determined to scour the internet to find this exact shirt and gift it to all the men in attendance) to not playing hardly any of the songs we sent on playlists before hand, our DJ was not what we expected. He did end up making our party hilarious and we all had so much fun dancing. My favorite line from him was “I hear that Florence is a funkkkyy town” in a strong Italian accent and then playing the song ‘Funky Town.’ I’m sending all of my friends who came a photo of DJ Simone, who is now a legend in all of our dance-loving hearts.

A dance circle inevitably happened, which was so fun and I can’t wait to see on video. Charles’s sister wins because she ended in the splits and I’m pretty sure still has a scar from it!

Around this time in the evening I switched into this little white slip dress so I could dance easier! I’ll keep this dress forever. I wanted something classic that I could keep and wear again and again on anniversaries to come.

It’s really a shame no one had any fun!

^Okaaaay just a hint of sarcasm. It’s in my blood! We had such an amazing time and everyone kept the dance party going all night long, which is just what we wanted. It’s hard to sit down when DJ Simone is slangin’ hits. Oh, and if you’re wondering.. yes, his F-bomb shirt reappeared by the end of the evening. Whatevs!

I hope you all have enjoyed seeing our wedding reception photos today and all of our wedding photos over the past few weeks! I can’t wait to get our video back and  share it with you all. I have a few more wedding-related things to share with you all and then I’ll be transitioning my Wednesday blog posts into another series. Thank you all so much for all your sweet messages about our wedding!! It’s been so fun to connect with so many of you throughout this process! XO
