Cozy sweater season has finally made it’s way to the South. Well, in the mornings and at night at least. I’m fine with it any time because I’ve been stocking up on some cozy sweaters that I’ve been dying to wear! This is one that is such a great, warm material without a huge price tag. At under $55 this sweater is such a great deal. I love the open back detail to give this sweater a fun little detail. I paired it with my new favorite distressed denim and these snakeskin booties that I just can’t stop wearing. The raw hem detail on these jeans is such a fun trend that I am loving this season. I’m on the hunt for a black pair of skinnies with a raw hem but that don’t have all the other distressed detail so I can wear them to work. The final touch was some statement earrings for a little color.
The start of the week is the close of another weekend. I’ve been loving relaxing Friday night ‘date nights’ lately whether that is us curled up on the couch with takeout, tv or a movie, and our pup or going out to dinner and being in bed early. I’ve been so tired by the time Fridays roll around that nothing sounds better than relaxing and sleeping in. On Saturday, I slept in and then got in a workout, ran some errands, relaxed with my pup, then showered and got ready for some outfit photos. I teamed up with a sorority sister from college who is shooting in Dallas and I can’t wait to share the images and outfits with you all! Saturday night we went to watch the Arkansas game (which was a rough game for us), then went out to celebrate a friend’s birthday. Sunday included a lazy start to the day with me getting in a little blog work, then spending two hours at the dog park, and going to an outdoor bar to cheer on our Cowboys. We ended the night with a sushi dinner with family and another Cowboys victory! I’m seriously loving all the energy behind our team in this city right now. It is so much fun to cheer on my Boys each weekend.
On the note of it FINALLY being sweater season, last weekend we spent our Friday night in watching Before the Flood. This is a documentary by Leonardo DeCaprio about global warming. It’s been undeniably and unseasonably hot this year, as it has been increasingly each year. The fact that it is still reaching 90 degrees some days in November is honestly scary to me. People joke about the weather being a basic communication topic, but in this case I truly feel that education about this issue and all of the facts is important and that discussion about it is essential. Make some time and find this documentary on Netflix or watch it when it is playing on tv. It is really well done and definitely sparks some thought, if nothing else.
I hope whatever you did this weekend that you enjoyed it as much as I did! Mine was the perfect mixture of relaxation and fun. Have a wonderful week!
