I love a little white dress (LWD) and a little black dress (LBD), but a LRD is a total statement maker. It’s not one I grab for as often as I do a LWD or LBD, but when I do wear it, I feel like a little red dress is empowering and bold. I wear red often and am always told ‘red is your color.’ I love that, because I think it’s powerful. I also think red is so classic. I think of a red lip and how much of a statement that has always made through history. It also has managed to stay in style through the years. I think a classic red dress is the same way in that it stays in style. Today, I’m sharing this cute little red dress and a round up of the cutest little red dresses for summer, all under $150!

I saw this little red dress and loved the off-the-shoulder and ruffle detail. It’s sort of a linen mix materials, so it’s light weight and perfect for summer. I got a size small in it, but think an extra small would have fit me better, as it was a little large through my hips. I wanted to play up the red and added fun retro sunnies and a bold red lip. I love red on red and styling a sort of monochrome look. I kept my other accessories on the simpler side with this classic white envelope clutch and these fun white and clear strappy heels. I love white and red paired together, particularly in the summer.

If you feel like red isn’t your color, I think it’s all about finding the right shade for your coloring. I like deeper, more classic reds, but I love the way that a bright, fire-like red looks on blondes! I think just play around with different shades and styles and you’ll find the right little red dress for you.

I hope you all had an amazing Memorial Day weekend. I took almost the entire weekend off of work and feel so rejuvenated. I apologize that there was no post up yesterday, but I figured everyone was enjoying the day off like I was. I spent a lot of time by the pool and getting some Vitamin D and some color on my skin made me feel so great. It also made me so happy that my summer will be starting in just a few short weeks! Last week was one of the busiest I can remember. I worked probably 70+ hours during the work week and then rallied to surprise my husband with a birthday celebration for his 30th birthday. Your girl was exhausted! It’s all downhill from here though and man, do I feel like I’ve earned this time off this summer. I’ll still be plenty busy with the blog, but to have more free time will be amazing. I finished a book this weekend and reading for pleasure and just relaxing by the pool felt so amazing! We all need time off to get back to feeling like ourselves and this three day weekend was just what I needed. I hope it was for you, too.
