Melissa Wood Health Review

A few months ago, I added a new workout into my routine called Melissa Wood Health. It’s a low impact workout that is a mix of pilates & yoga. Most videos are on the shorter side, so you can squeeze them in where you can into your day. However, it’s super easy to do a few in a row to get in a longer workout. Today, I’ll be sharing a Melissa Wood Health Review & answering some FAQs.

Melissa Wood Health Review

A quick pro & con comparison & my in a nutshell Melissa Wood Health review is below. I’m going more in depth in the FAQs section, though.

Pros: New workout posted every Monday. The workout program is super affordable. Her energy is contagious. She is insanely supportive of her community. The workouts help create long, lean lines. The workouts are as much for your mind as your body, maybe even more so.

Cons: I really don’t have any cons. I love Melissa’s workouts so much. Some have said they wish they were all higher quality, produced workout videos, but I like that they aren’t. It makes them so much more relatable, like you are working out with a friend.

FAQs

Below I am answering some of the FAQs you all sent in on my Instagram stories to help break down the program a little bit more for you all. If I missed your question or if you think of a new one, please let me know so that I can answer it here for everyone to see!

What is the program like?

The program includes follow along videos with sound that are mostly pilates & yoga focused. She also has treadmill workouts & guided meditations on her site, too. Melissa’s workouts focus on long, lean lines. The workouts are low impact & are as much for your mind as they are your body. She focuses on just getting moving & making time for yourself, even if that is just 15 minutes in your day, rather than feeling like you have to spend 1.5 hours/day in the gym killing yourself to see results. She has over 50 workouts on her site at a time & adds a new one every Monday.

How do you stream the videos?

You can stream the videos straight from MWH’s website or using her app. I usually do them on the site on my computer so it’s a bigger screen I can see in our home gym. I love using the app when traveling or have even streamed them on a TV before, too.

How long are the videos?

She has videos of all different lengths. She has a ton of ‘quickie’ videos for all muscle groups that are anywhere from 8 minutes to 15 minutes, but she really has videos of all different lengths from 8 minutes up to almost an hour. I often combine a few shorter videos to create one longer workout.

How do you choose which video(s) to do?

I really just decide based on how I’m feeling that day! She has some that are full body, but others are more specific to certain muscle groups or body parts. There have been so many days I think I’ll just do one shorter 15 minute video, but then I feel so good that I keep going & end up doing 45 minutes or close to an hour of videos. There is a weekly schedule up on her site, so you can follow that if you feel like you need a good place to start.

How much does it cost?

Melissa does a one week free trial so you can try it out & ensure you like it before purchasing. From there, you can either pay $9.99/month or you can pay $99.99/year (which saves you 20%).

What equipment do you need?

MWH workouts require very little or even no equipment. She always says that you can modify without any equipment. The best equipment to have on hand if you really want to go all in on what she’s doing is linked at the bottom of this post for reference!

What changes have you noticed?

My biggest shift with doing MWH workouts has been mentally. She has completely shifted my mindset for the better. I used to think if I didn’t have an hour to workout that it was a bust, but she has really made me realize that 15 minutes is better than nothing. Like I mentioned above, often times I feel so great that I keep going if I have the time. I’ve noticed that I have toned without bulking & that I am working towards the longer & leaner body type that I desire. I’ve seen the line on the side of my leg come back without my thighs bulking & I’ve seen my arms become so much more toned & slim due to tons of plank exercises, which have become my favorite!

Can you do MWH while pregnant?

Melissa herself has two kids & created a ton of pre & post-natal workouts that are on her site that she recorded when she was in those phases herself. Of course, always consult with your doctor about what you personally should be doing!

I do MWH workouts and I am obsessed. Everything you said is so accurate, but I’d also add that she gives great vocal cues right when you need them as if she’s in the room with you!
